Laurie Lewis & the Right HandsI’m delighted to share with you that Laurie Lewis & The Right Hands is coming to my venue, the Foothills Event Center, next Saturday! Grammy Award-winning musician Laurie Lewis will perform live on the Foothills stage along with her band, The Right Hands, on Saturday, March 16th.

Many of you will recognize her name, as Lewis has long been a leading lady in bluegrass. An internationally-recognized guitar and fiddle player, Laurie won the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Female Vocalist of the Year award numerous times.

I encourage you to come on out to the Foothills Event Center for a bluegrass concert you’ll be talking about for months to come!

Laurie is a Grammy Award-winning artist who is renowned around the world as a multi-faceted artist: she plays the fiddle, sings, leads a band, writes songs, produces, and educates. Since 1986, Laurie has recorded with her musical partner, mandolinist Tom Rozum. Some of you may remember back from her Good Ol’ Persons and the Grant Street String Band days; Laurie was a founding member of both groups.

Twice-voted Female Vocalist of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association, Laurie has won the esteem and respect of her peers. As Linda Ronstadt puts is, “Her voice is a rare combination of grit and grace, strength and delicacy. Her stories are always true.”

I believe that women need to support each other in the business world, and I strive to support women in the arts as well. That’s why I’m so looking forward to this concert! Laurie is a pioneering woman in bluegrass music, having paved the way for many young women musicians today.
